The Forest Service is proposing to revise its National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) procedures with the goal of increasing efficiency of environmental analysis, according to a January 3 Federal Register notice.  The Notice states that among the reasons for seeking greater efficiency is the backlog of more than 6,000 special use permit requests. Public comments are invited to be filed by February 2, 2018. Details on filing comments are include in the Notice.
